Hi:
Does anyone know of a PLL (part #, and source for it) that will work
at 28Mhz? I am working on a Rx design, and I need a low cost part. Thanks!

Subject: HELP: Audio problems in Yaesu FT727R HT
To: ham-homebrew@ucsd.edu
I've a problem with a Yaesu FT727R HT I recently brought back to
service. It has intermittently lost its audio. When I first turned
it on after repairs, the radio made a brief motorboating sound, then
the audio seems to cut out (radio CPU still works and the Busy light still
indicates open squelch). There *is* audio when this happens, but
it's *very* faint. There is a tone board (Yaesu's) installed, and
it is also nonfunctional (radio just beeps when I try to invoke the
encoder).
The first time this happened, I was able to turn the radio off and
on and normal audio would come back (tone board still didn't work).
Now after several hours of this, the audio does *not* return.
A month ago, I experienced these symptoms and replaced the audio output
transistor, a 2SB772; a new transistor is in place now, but the
problem persists. I have a thought that perhaps the fault is killing the
transistor; I hope not. The tone card might be squelching the audio,
since it supports tone decode as well as encode.
This is an old HT, and has been under repair several times. I'm reaching the
point of no return, but would really appreciate any advice on this,
especially from 727 owners (_besides_ "Buy a new radio!" :)).
Thanks and 73's, Dave, N1KGH

Hi ALL:
I have a Realistic PRO-2023 programmable scanner. I would like to modify
it for operation on 6, 10, 12, ... meters. I think 6 and 10 should be
fairly easy since it's right on the edge, I'm not sure about the rest.
Anyone recommendations would be appreciated.
thanks--
